Never Give Up - Recount

Never give up!!!

The coach say’s it’s warm up time, and for warm up the whole team had to lay down and two people have to chase each other and jump over the team members. After they had finish their warm up they moved on to stretching and the whole team was stretching their hamstring at the back of their knees and stretching their muscles in their calve muscle. Now ball skills and for they had to pass the ball to each other and if anyone drops the ball the whole team have to drop down and do ten push up’s so it help everyone concentrate. 

After they had passing skills they moved on to catching skills and more passing skills, if someone is not looking then you have to call their name out and if they are looking at you then look if they see you and if they do see u then pass the ball and to catch the ball keep your hand up. After they played truck and trailer the coach saved the most last tackle practice. The coach said put your head behind the player you're tackling. The coach said tackle around the legs so no one gets injured. After they done practice the coach say’s now it time to play six a side and it a chance for the team to put altogether their skills. 

After they have played six a side they whole to does long slow stretch to cool down. At last practice was over everyone was on the ground. The coach choose 2 players of the day and they were Jared and Jesse. The reason why Jesse was player of the day because he never gave up.

Why did Greig decide to design a new type of umbrella? Greg designed a new and improved type of umbrella because every time when it is a rainy day people put their umbrellas up and end up poking Greg in the eye since he is a pretty tall guy.

What is the history of the umbrella given in the text? Thousands of years ago umbrellas were created to protect people from the sun naturally, but the Chinese had created a coating of wax or lacquer to go on top of the umbrella so that it may protect people from rain as well.

What new features did Greig design on the umbrella? Greg added in blunt corners for the umbrella, a different type of frame inside of the  umbrella, and strong material that could stand possibly more that 117 mph winds.

What is the name of Greig’s umbrella and why did he call it that? Greg had called his new invention: The Blunt Umbrella because the sides of the umbrella was not pointy but blunt and so that is how the blunt umbrella got it’s name.

How did Greig test the umbrella? Greig took the umbrella to the win thomas just to test so it can be strong.

How does Greig’s work impact the world? Greg’s work actually improved the world because he reduced the cause of injuries to himself and others whom are as tall as himself, and his invention had proved to be a success, which he makes a living off of.

Summarise - Helping To Win The War

Page 1:

In page one the story is telling us about how their were getting ready for the war. In the war there were seven thousand soldiers fought in the 28th (Maori) Battalion during the second world war. The Battalion fought mainly in the middle East, North Africa, and Italy. In Aotearoa, Maori schoolchildren helped to raise money to buy a canteen truck for the Battalion.

Page 2:

In July 1941 at Tuparoa Native school on East Coast of the North Island. All Whanau in their Village were poor. These days Children's never wore shoes because their couldn't afford to buy some. Some children's had got their first shoes in 1950 when their were boarding school. It grave them blisters.

Page 3 :

This  page is about when one of there family joined in to help fight in the war. During the years the children at school use to dug gardens plots and grew vegetables from seeds.

Page 4

Kids from schools used to play war games. There have dug trenches in the sand with their hands, Their used driftwood. The Japanese had bombed Pearl Harbour in Hawaii  in 1941, lots of people were worried that Japan

Page 5:

The kids were playing then they saw an air plane flying above their head and they fought that it was an enemy plane that was coming to them for war.

When the truck came to the school and then all of the kids that was at the school they all ran to the  truck and all of the kids was excited and some kinds was talking to the soldiers and some of the others kids looked at bullet holes and they were all excited.And the other soldiers was happy to cause the school fund-raise for them to and after all they had fun
