TPS News Senior Syndicate Traditional Garden Day from Tamaki Primary on Vimeo.

GARDEN DAY ACTIVITY REFLECTION SHEETZ
This document is a reflection on the purpose, process and outcomes of our Garden Day Activities.

NAME:
Lolo

ACTIVITY
Ko making

MATERIALS
wooden sticks, mussel shell,knife

PURPOSE
The ko is a traditional tool for digging the soil.

PROCESS
We were working with a partner.
Miss Aireen told one of us  to go and get a piece of  wood.
After we got our wood Miss Aireen said to get a mussel shell.
We stripped the bark with the mussel shell.
We used a sharp knife to sharpen one end of the ko.

WHAT WORKED WELL
(What did we do well to make sure our activity was successful?)

  • Working with a partner.
  • Without a partner it would have been hard to scrape the bark.

WHAT DIDN’T WORK WELL:
(What do think didn’t work well during your activity?  Why? How did you/could you fix this?)
  • Everything worked well because we worked well with our partner.

WHAT THINGS DID YOU LEARN ?
  • What a ko is used for and how to make one .
